The process was initiated by URCA, the Regulator of The Bahamas, but the Operators are the owners of the system. Operator involved in the system are:
- Bahamas Telecommunications Company Ltd
- Cable Bahamas Ltd
The solution implemented in The Bahamas is a Centralized database solution with Inter Operator Communications. It follows the standard number porting process for Fixed with IVR validation. The lead time for a Porting Request is 4 days. The project started in February 2013, with a due date of the 3rd of September 2013, which was delayed by one of the operators until the 2nd of December 2012.
